At Bunch Bikes, we LOVE celebrating active transportation - today and every day! Walking or biking to school gives kids - and adults - a healthy and energizing start to the day.

When we're outdoors, we can greet each other, laugh together, rock out to each other's music, and build the community connections that are harder to find in the car dropoff line.

Through our choices, we're also advocating for safer infrastructure and a more sustainable future for our families!

Start small and easy

We know that many Bunch Squad members are deeply involved in activism - leading bike buses, organizing group rides, and advocating for safer infrastructure.

If you're not there yet, but curious about getting started - Bike To School Day offers a super easy, non intimidating, no stress opportunity.

You can plan an awesome Bike To School Day event with just $20 and 20 minutes.

Here's how!

1. Choose a date that works for your community

The official Bike To School Day is usually a Wednesday, but you can celebrate on any day within the month that works for you!

If your school has a weekly bike bus, consider celebrating on the day it already runs.

You can register your celebration date on the national website here!

2. Spread the word

You can find premade graphics and fliers here. Ask your school to share in their app or email newsletter! Share with your PTA and parent group chats too. We recommend 2-3 rounds of reminders!

Make your event more inclusive by welcoming kids to walk, bike, roll, or take public transit - whatever works 😎

3. Celebrate!

Set up at your school's arrival area with music, a bubble machine, and stickers for kids who tried active transportation. A "How did you get to school today?" poster adds more super easy fun!

Take lots of photos and share on your school's channels too - helps build excitement for next time :)
